Dept of Biochemistry

Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences has a well organized Biochemistry Department. The head of the Depatment is Dr. M.S.Dharapur.  The department  has two senior lecturers Dr. Indu.R and Dr. Sanu Jocob.Dept also hashas two efficient  tutors Mrs. Sivaprabha and Miss. Simi.

The department is equipped with adequate infrastructure.  There is a well set lab with a lab assistant and adequate facilities for handling the practicals of first year BDS

The department handles lectures and practical classes for first year BDS students.  The faculty of the department stresses on applied and clinically oriented teaching to provide an objective oriented learning besides covering the topics as per mentioned in the syllabus.  The faculty also gives their maximum effort in providing comprehensive training during the practical sessions.  Major reference books as per mentioned in the syllabus are available to the department.

Students have presented good performance in the last university Examination.  They secured good results and were awarded with cash prizes.  Internal Examinations for theory and practicals are also being conducted as per university norms. Students also actively took part in all the extracurricular activities
