Indira Gandhi Institute of Dental Sciences has a well equipped and fully furnished department of Oral Pathology & Microbiology Department. The department is headed by Dr.Niveditha.

Presently, the department is handling dental anatomy & histology classes for the 1st BDS and Oral Pathology classes for 2nd and 3rd BDS.  The department has latest teaching material and instruments to teach students from 1st BDS to the 3rd BDS .

The department has a well equipped lab, which can engage 50 students at one time.
